Manchester United fans have accused French police of tear gassing them at the stadium after their 2-2 Europa League draw with Lyon.

United will return to Manchester for the second leg of their European quarter-finals. Which ended in a 2-2 draw that both sides had the chance to win.
Away fans are usually asked to wait outside the stadium after games to help manage traffic and reduce the risk of confrontations between fans from both sides.

However, trouble appeared to break out at the Groupama Stadium after the game. With one United fan sharing a post-match video showing several supporters covering their noses with cloths. With “everybody” being tear gassed.
Around 3,000 of the 59,000 United fans in attendance were seen wearing shirts to cover their faces after the game.
“Everybody’s been tear gassed here. ” one fan can be heard saying in the video. “What the hell is going on?”
“How can they use tear gas in a football match?”
said another. “This is what we get as Man United fans.”
As the camera pans around, more and more fans cover their mouths. And noses with cloths, while one fan says: “Look at this, this is disgusting. People are dying here. This is horrible.”
Occasional coughing can also be heard in the video. With other fans on social media suggesting that most fans were affected.
As the video goes on, many fans can be seen rubbing their eyes. Covering their faces and booing.
Social media reports said fans were warned that spectators would be quarantined in the stadium for an hour. While the building was still fully accessible, before police locked down the toilets and corridors and sprayed insecticide after spectators left the stadium.
In addition to the alleged incidents, United fans had to travel long and difficult distances to collect their wristbands at the Eurexpo convention centre, around 10km from Lyon’s Groupama Stadium, between 5pm and match day.
Lyon’s metro system was also disrupted ahead of kick-off. With transport authorities rushing to arrange alternative buses to get fans to the game in time.
Both French police and Manchester United have been contacted by Mail Sport for comment. While United are also investigating the matter.
