Carragher slams Chelsea: They should stop signing players!

Liverpool star Jamie Carragher has slammed Chelsea after they agreed to sign Joao Felix, believing the club’s policy of signing a large number of young players would have a negative impact on the club’s structure and the players’ careers, especially when they sign seven or eight-year contracts.

“Chelsea have to stop signing players and players have to stop coming to Chelsea. I don’t understand why players want to come (to Chelsea)? The only reason you would move is because someone or your agent says, ‘We’re going to get a seven-year contract with big money, that means you’re going to get seven years of guaranteed money’. You know what I’m saying? You have to think you’re a player, sign a four-year contract at the right club, try to play well and when the time comes you’ll get a new contract, you’re going to get a bigger payday. I don’t understand why players want to sign a seven-year contract.”

“It’s nothing! It’s not about a team full of young talent. They’ve bought Joao Felix, where is he going to play? They signed Neto last week, where is he going to play in a ยูฟ่าเบท https://ufabet999.app team with Cole Palmer? Where are you going to put a £100m player like Enzo Fernandez? Where is Nkunku going to play? What I’m saying is that a good football team needs competition.”

“But every team I’ve been in has had seven or eight players confident they’re going to play every week, then there’s seven or eight who are fighting for three more places and seven or eight who know they’re reinforcements. That’s a good team, but what Chelsea have done is not. People are asking where is Joao Felix going to play, where is he going to change? I’m serious, if you have 40 players in the squad, how are they going to fit into the same dressing room? How are you going to get them training?”

Barring any unforeseen circumstances, Joao Felix will become Chelsea’s 10th signing of the summer following the arrivals of Pedro Neto, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Philip Jorgensen, Omari Kellyman, Aaron Anselmino, Renato Vega, Caleb Wiley, Marc Gue and Tosin Adarabioyo.
